She's Rigged!

Given the dramatic changes we made to the rig and sail plan, the most anxiously awaited day of the refit (for me, anyway) occurred this week when it came time to commission her new rig at Kittery Point Yacht Yard. Let's face it, this post could have gone either way.....but I'm relieved (actually, ecstatic!) to report it was a complete success! The crew at KPYY and Hall Spars did a superb, masterful job all the way around.

Given that I'm somewhat dyslexic, not to mention far-sighted - and prone to transposing numbers, I never had 1000% confidence that maybe just one of the dozens of calculations that I took with Bob Eger using a transit and that were fed to Hall Spars for shroud length construction etc. might be, uhh...wrong! Bigger variables had my nerves frayed, including the fact that the mast itself was custom and changes made to the mast step, chain plates, carpentry, sail order, etc. etc. all came down to this step being successful. And it was.
